第49屆日內瓦國際發明展於4月21日在瑞士日內瓦閉幕,AKSOThe "Intelligent Health Sensor System" project, jointly submitted with the Correctional Services Department of Hong Kong, won the Silver Award.
The "Smart Health Sensor System" project is a non-contact smart monitoring system solution that uses optical fibres as sensors to instantly measure the user's vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate and bed departure. An audible alarm will be generated in the event of abnormal conditions such as respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest or fall. The system can be used for remote bed management from different workstations to reduce the workload of staff.

The project has collaborated with the Hong Kong Correctional Services Department (CSD) and has been put into operation in the hospital ward of the Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre (LCKRC) in Hong Kong, using a non-contact system to monitor the health conditions of inmates, helping the CSD to enhance the standard and efficiency of its governance, and promote the modernisation of correctional facilities, in response to the Hong Kong Government's policy of promoting the development of a "smart city".
At this exhibition, theAKSOThe project and commercialisation prospect of the "Intelligent Health Sensor System" was well received and recognised by the jury, winning the Silver Award and attracting wide attention from international experts and visitors.

The International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland, was founded in 1971.It is one of the oldest and most influential international invention exhibitions in the world. Jointly organised by the Swiss Federal Government, the Cantonal Government of Geneva, the Municipality of Geneva and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in 1973, the exhibition is recognised by governments around the world for its impartiality in judging, its grand scale, and for the high authority and reputation it enjoys in the world of international exhibitions and for its prizes.
