The exhibition drew large crowds

The three-day "Golden Age Exhibition and Summit" officially opened today (August 11) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. A grand opening ceremony was held before the exhibition commenced, with distinguished speakers from across the public and private sectors. Notable speakers included Dr. Karoline Schmid, Head of the Population Aging Section at the United Nations; Ms. Sun Yuhan, Secretary for Labour and Welfare; Mr. Choi Hoi-wai, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service; and Mr. Chan Yum-min, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Hong Kong Housing Society. Also in attendance was former Chief Secretary for Administration and former Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr. Cheung Kin-chung—a testament to the broad societal commitment to elderly care and the significance of this event. In her address, Ms. Sun Yuhan emphasized that Hong Kong is not only a global hub for trade and finance but also ranks among the world's highest in life expectancy. She further stated that leveraging technological innovation to advance the city's elderly care sector is a key strategic priority for the Hong Kong government in the years ahead.
